Artist in Residence: Kelly Jang

Werkpresentatie te zien t/m 31 juli 2014

Gedurende de maanden mei t/m 31 juli 2014 verblijft de Zuid-Koreaanse kunstenaar Kelly (Kyung Yeon) Jang bij het Kunstfort als Artist in Residence. Haar werk handelt over leven, dood en de vergankelijkheid van schoonheid. Bij het Kunstfort liet zij zich inspireren door het monumentale werk Sluipweg, waarlangs de dood heeft weten te ontsnappen, dat Hans van Houwelingen hier eerder realiseerde. Het werk The Ephemeral Path, waarvan de bovenstaande afbeelding een detail toont, werd aangekocht door de Gemeente Haarlemmermeer. 

Een presentatie van Jang’s werk is te zien in de Genieloods, tijdens de openingstijden van tentoonstelling Size Matters.

Bio Kelly (Kyung Yeon) Jang, PhD
With ten private exhibitions and a two books thesis on "A Study on the Expression of the Peach-Blossom Spring as the Paradise of Life", Kelly Jang received a PhD in Fine Arts at Hongik University, South Korea. In her work, she has always reflected on life, death and paradise. She will continue her study on painting, photography and literature that represents her way of thinking, as well as through her interactions and harmonisations with other cultures. Jang is also planning to publish books considering the Oriental and Occidental paradise.
